- Mission: Conservation of forests and biodiversity and a resilient economy in Côte d'Ivoire
- Clients: GIZ Côte d'Ivoire
- Implementation period: 01/2023-06/2023
For GIZ Côte d'Ivoire, ICM provided organizational consulting and strategy development for the two clusters "Forest and Biodiversity" and "Resilient Economy" in 2023. The GIZ projects in the "Forests and Biodiversity" cluster support Ivorian policymakers in implementing their policy for the conservation, restoration and expansion of forests through utilisation and management plans for state forests, the development and testing of agroforestry systems, the consolidation of existing conservation and forest areas with high biodiversity and the establishment of new nature reserves.
With its projects, the "Resilient Economy" cluster promotes a fundamental socio-ecological transformation of economic systems in order to overcome today's challenges, climate change, economic and regional inequalities, poverty and the consequences of extreme adversities. It also supports the Ivorian government in making greenhouse gas producing sectors such as industry, transport, buildings, agriculture and waste more resilient and reducing their carbon footprint through the promotion of renewable energy, energy efficiency, improved waste management and recycling, and climate-friendly logistics solutions.
